Safe Spaces

Safe space for Christians will only multiply as more and more nations are discipled. The more nations are discipled, the better, wealthier, just, free, and healthy all humanity will be – believers and non-believers.

Calls for only a personal Saviour, who has nothing to say about the legal system, justice, restitution, family, liberty, or property, are calls for a Saviour who is silent in the face of blatant evil. This silent God, mute before evil, is not the God of the Bible. Jesus insisted that He came to bring about the Kingdom of God, a Kingdom that is on the grow, a Kingdom of Justice and Peace and Prosperity, even here and now.

I suppose that there must be some Christians who still believe in ‘objective, unbiased, neutral’ governments. I have no idea under which (ever-shrinking) closet they have chosen to hide in over the last few decades or so, but it would be best if they would wake up and smell the coffee. Just as freedom comes from Christ (and not the ever-expanding State – regardless of religious or ideological justification), so there is no freedom apart from Christ.

Christians who want safety as Christians had better go get it: waiting for Our Masters to give it to you is an exercise in futility. Once again: you are only going to get your liberty if you and your neighbours organize locally, and go get it yourselves.

Obviously not through violence (which will merely give Our Masters the chance to try out new whips), but by building a solid future, with our families and your local communities, a future that will last after the current debt-ridden delusional culture has dissolved into the failure it is destined for. Obedience to God, service to family and customer, productivity and humility… this is the way to win.

(But doing what is right is no guarantee of physical or economic safety, in the here and now. Then again, obedience to the fickle desires of men are no true guarantee, either.)

Follow the example of your Lord, Jesus Christ, who did not cry out for safety, but put His life on the line for victory. In this way, He gained spiritual safety for us (the most important kind), opening for us the road to expand the Kingdom of God on this world. To be truly safe is to be with God, and to be with God is to live for Him, and fight on His behalf, in His way (as demonstrated by Christ), to change this world (and not just individual souls).

Instead of longing for a safe place for yourself, why not build a safer place for your children, for the future believers, for the humble and meek before God?

And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it. — Mark 8:34-35
