Black Mayors

New black mayors make a difference, one Georgia town at a time

ATLANTA — If you stand on the wooden floors of the Book Worm used bookstore and look out the front windows onto downtown Powder Springs, Georgia, it is easy to see the Southern past lingering.

Store owner Susan Smelser stands by the window and points across the street to a nearby building. “That’s where the Ku Klux Klan used to meet,” she says.

But down the road a few blocks, at Powder Springs City Hall, history was made recently, as the city’s first black mayor, Al Thurman, took office.

He has not been alone this year. Only 10 miles south, Douglasville saw Rochelle Robinson, also its first female mayor, do the same. And a bit farther downstate, Fayetteville swore in its first African-American mayor, Ed Johnson.

This is what is needed.

Now, merely having black mayors does not mean that things are going to get better, no more than a black president did. Observe that long chain of black socialist mayors in Detroit, for example.

What it does mean that black people should finally take responsibility for their own destiny, for good or ill – instead of looking to the Great White Father (…or the Great Black Father…) to save them.

Power flows from taking responsibility: in your own life, in your family, at work, and then in the local community.

“But what about white-dominated towns?”

Let them elect who they want. So long as black folks in white towns are treated lawfully, I really don’t care that much. I have no interest in some sprawling centralized liberal empire – or conservative empire, for that matter. Local independence and local rule is where its’ at.

Naturally, whites have the right to the same lawful treatment in black-dominated towns. “There is only one law.”

The Laughter of the Media

From Lin Dinh’s Broken Ukraine

A sad devastation…

The outskirts of the capital were basically more of the same dispiriting Communist urban planning, but here and there rose new high rises that were not unattractive. I was surprised, though, by how beautiful and sophisticated the center of Kiev was. With much of the country’s wealth parked here, brand name shops were everywhere, but all were bedecked quite stridently with large SALE signs of up to 90% off. Whatever that was wrong with Ukraine before the Euromaidan demonstrations, it was clearly making progress, for otherwise there wouldn’t be all these shops for all budgets. Now, thousands of sales clerks and store owners stand around all day to look pleadingly at every passerby. As I strayed into the meat and fish section of the vast Besarabsky Market, each stall owner shouted a torrent at me to buy a just-killed piece of something, so that I had to wade through a sea of incomprehensible words just to get out.

Such a gem of a city would normally be swarmed with tourists, but I saw almost none. Taking the subway several times each day for a week, I was clearly the only alien, with the lone exception a black man who didn’t look all that comfortable. I heard no foreign languages on these extended rides far underground, and the Kiev subway is bizarrely deep. I wondered why most people did not hurry up or down the endless escalators, but those long, angled tubes were indeed soothing. A man sat down on a grooved, steel step.

…Useful Property, 2016 edition…

On the bar, there were two remote control tanks, one called “POWER KING,” in front of the Ukrainian and European Union flags. On the walls were two images of Che Guevara and one of Bob Marley. It was ridiculous to see Che idolized since Ukrainian nationalism is supposed to be anti-Communist, but such is the power of Western pop culture. Agreeing with me, Potekhin added that the bar owner had studied in the US. The music on the sound system, Cab Calloway, Roy Orbison, Gogol Bordello, Van Morrison, Otis Redding, B.B. King and Carl Perkins, etc., showed his musical taste. Beneath a photo of a pensive Miles Davis were these scrawls, “NEVER be bought never be SOLD” and “PAIN IS TEMPORARY BUT PRIDE IS FOREVER.”

Hearing American music everywhere, much of it black, I can’t help but conclude how greatly Uncle Sam has benefited from driving his black population into the deepest despair or half mad, for whether they moan most pathetically (blues), blather ecstatically or even incoherently (jazz), or lash out obscenely (rap,) the United States does not lose but gain billions of admirers. Blacks, then, are a huge component of Uncle Sam’s soft power.

The Will of the Emperor

On April 19th, 2014, I gave Press TV another Ukraine commentary. Rereading the transcripts, both available online, I stand behind every word, so here’s the second, more succinct statement:

“America brings ruination to each country it interferes with. Just look at Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and now Ukraine. Just look at the continuing war in Syria. While posing as a force of good and democracy, the US brings nothing but destruction and death. My fear is that America will become even more violent as it collapses

The US has instigated this entire crisis, but it is blaming everything on Russia each step of the way.

After it staged a violent and illegal coup against the Kiev government, it accused Russia of fomenting unrest in the Eastern and Southern parts of the country, but it is only natural that ethnic Russians in these regions would want to be reabsorbed back into Russia. They don’t want to be second class citizens in a country that’s wrecked by American economic manipulation, and they don’t want to be a pawn in a dangerous game of provocation against Russia, maybe even war against Russia, whom they identify with. Ukraine is being used by the US to disrupt the economic integration of Russia and Europe. The US is trying to prevent both Russia and China from becoming vital economic partners of Europe, because this would leave no room for the United States.”

The most laughter I heard in Ukraine was on the bus leaving it. The Milky Way expanded as soon as we entered Poland.

I wonder if Black Americans will ever clue in to the idea that they are just things to be used, regardless of what colour or what party the puppet in the White House is.

Probably the same day Southern White Christians, that disposable cannon fodder for an empire that despises everything they are, suddenly get enlightened regarding their proper place in the Imperial Pyramid of Power.

In For the Long Haul

From the hard-working Bojidar Marinov from Bulgarian Reformation:

“No matter what we do, the opinion of ethnic Bulgarians towards the Roma will never change.”

This complaint was posted on a Gypsy forum a few days ago, by a Gypsy Christian. The man is a husband and a father,  one of those who have taken seriously the call to transforming the culture of his people based on the Gospel.
I felt obligated to reply.  “My opinion changed a long time ago, as has the opinion of many other ethnic Bulgarians.  Some victories come quickly. For others, you have to wait generations. The spiritual maturity of a people is often expressed in patience: namely, work to lay down the foundation now, and plan for the children and the grandchildren to take advantage of it.
“In the first century, Cicero advised his fellow Romans to not buy Celtic slaves, because they were too dumb to learn anything, and therefore were worthless for any kind of work. The Celts at the time were the Gypsies of Europe. Four centuries later, after St. Patrick evangelized Ireland, it was the Celts in Ireland who became the most important center of Christian culture and learning. And in the 17th and the 18th century Scotland – another Celtic people – gave the world many of its greatest scientists and innovators.

It’s going to be a long walk, if Black Americans plan to get to as high a position as the Celtic people.

“The only thing that prevents the Roma people of achieving the same successes is their cultural legacy from the past. A cultural legacy is overcome by two things:  a more powerful cultural legacy, and transferring that cultural legacy to the next generation. There is no cultural legacy more powerful than Protestant Christianity, and here, Romani communities are on the right track. But it is necessary to transfer the Christian faith to your children so that they never even think of abandoning it. If you do that in this generation, it will be easier for the next generation. Your job is the most difficult of all but also the most rewarding.”

Black American Christians, who are serious about obeying God and building their own unique and inspiring civilization, had better get their walking boots on.

(Fortunately, I doubt that it will take 2,000 years for Blacks to get to where they should be, like it took the Celts. Two or three centuries of dedicated labour – for their God and their families, as well as their business clients and customers – should be enough…

…if Blacks actually decide to get into the winner’s circles, rather than just whine and bitch and moan.)

Note that I fully expect the solid majority of blacks can just keep on pounding the table for reparations and set-asides and quotas. Even so: beggars and dependents don’t get to command… even if they are tossed a few gold coins every so often.

But never mind. “History has never been dominated by majorities, but only by dedicated minorities who stand unconditionally on their faith,” as Rushdoony insisted, and his words has been proven to be obviously true: a casual survey of American culture demonstrates this.

Wouldn’t it be nice if Christians actually took God’s command for victory – in time, and on earth – seriously?

And even better if committed Black Christians demonstrated this more clearly than anyone else?

Wouldn’t there be a better demonstration that victory comes through Christ, that ethics determine our destiny… and not genetics (as Darwinians proclaim) or the well-oiled machine guns of a Total State, controlled by the Right Sort (as Socialists, Communists, and Muslims proclaim)?

Life Under the Black Robed Masters

From American Vision

Unfortunately, the Supreme Court has become, contrary to the Constitution, our nation’s de facto law-making body based on the moral relativism of evolution. A nation of 325 million people is now governed by the whims of four, soon to be five, unelected Supreme Court Justices.

It does not matter if a decision from the Supreme Court is contrary to the Constitution, because in the words of Chief Justice Charles Evans Hughes (1862-1948), “We are under a Constitution, but the Constitution is what the judges say it is, and the judiciary is the safeguard of our liberty and of our property under the Constitution.”

If the Constitution is what the judges say it is, how is it possible for there to be a safeguard on any moral or legal principle when the Constitution is said to be a “living” and evolving” document where liberty and property can be redefined?

[…]

“But the core of [Paul’s] message [in Romans 13:1–4] is that government — however you want to limit that concept — derives its moral authority from God. It is the ‘minister of God’ with powers to ‘revenge,’ to ‘execute wrath,’ including even wrath by the sword (which is unmistakably a reference to the death penalty). Paul of course did not believe that the individual possessed any such powers. Only a few lines before this passage, he wrote, ‘Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.’ And in this world the Lord repaid — did justice — through His minister, the state. These passages from Romans represent the consensus of Western thought until very recent times.”1

Today, the majority of people would rather have the evolving moral worldview of Darwin than the fixed moral standards of God that limits personal retaliation (anarchy) and the unbridled power of the State (totalitarianism).

An evolving Constitution in the hands of justices who do not believe in a God-ordained higher law and have embraced the claim that the human race is “just a chemical scum” that evolved into “an advanced breed of monkeys on a minor planet of a very average star,” as Stephen Hawking puts it, is judicial suicide.

It isn’t just judicial suicide… it’s national suicide, as well.

Often times, even personal suicide.

But no matter: Christians are not to “Live for the State and the People, and Die for the State and the People.”

This culture will die, by it’s own hand. Indeed, with the destruction of the unborn and the perversion of justice, it is already dead, so far as the world of the spirit is concerned: after all, Adam was declared to be spiritually dead as soon long before he was physically dead.

We’re just waiting until our supposed Lord and Master, the State, kindly dries up and blows away.

But we don’t have to just pray and wait: we can work and teach and build, as well.

Every Establishment Man seethes with hatred every time a Christian family has a new child, and raises him in the nurture and admonition of the Lord… but Establishment Man is on the wrong side of the technological revolution: a revolution that decentralizes and disperses, not centralizes and concentrates, power and authority.

The Fall of Our Masters is like most forms of bankruptcies, even most forms of death: gradually, and then suddenly. Step by step, they lose respect and legitimacy: and step by step, we are to advance in regaining our liberty, our freedom, and our right to be ruled by the Lord of our choosing… and not the will of wealthy and powerful liars, Lord of Power and Pleasure well-versed in generating a wave of manufactured consensus.

By working the small victories, by despising dependence on Our Masters who Hate Us, by pushing the boundary whenever and wherever we can, we ready ourselves for the great victory, when the Welfare State dies and the massive bribes cease.

That’s the goal.

Factoring in Judas

HTC founder Cher Wang cheated; company has no comment

Taipei, Feb. 13 (CNA) Taiwan-based smartphone vendor HTC Corp. has declined to comment on a report that its founder, Cher Wang (王雪紅), has been swindled by members of her church.

The Chinese-language World Journal, published in the United States, cited U.S. court papers as saying that Wang was cheated to the tune of US$7.4 million.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office, Northern District of California, said in a news release that between 2004 and January 2016, Jonathan Chang (常如武), 60, and his wife Grace Chang (李薇林), 57, swindled money out of a donor.

Although the news release did not identify the donor, media reports have said that the donor is Wang.

Every Christian plan for victory must factor in the repulsive figure of Judas Iscariot.

National & State politics can be written off as utterly corrupt, and fundamentally irredeemable. Local politics can be a forum for victory, but the goal is primarily to break down and degrade power and roll back the endless sea of laws and taxes, not to gather power. The goal of the magistrate is only to suppress public evil as defined by God, nothing more.

Any attempt to gather power will naturally attract sociopaths wearing Christian masks, like flies to rotting meat. A drive to undercut power, to decentralize and liberate and grant liberty and freedom, is naturally repulsive to Our Compassionate Friends.

Satan believes in centralizing power: God, in decentralizing power (and holding people accountable at a later date). Christians are to follow the ways of the Lord, not the ways of power-adoring, control-hungry Secularists or Muslims.

(Who are always and everywhere eager to grind Christians under their heels, by the way. Along with their not-so-secret conservative political fellow-travellers.)

When looking for a charity, careful attention must be paid to where the money goes, including the use of outside auditors (preferably not Christian, as most modern Christians ‘professionals’ only produce substandard third-rate work.)

Yes, this is a disgrace to the God they claim to worship… but since when has God’s Commandments mattered to them? Getting that raise and that pat on the head from (uncompromisingly anti-Christian) authorities is far more important to most of today’s believers than any of the promises of victory to be found in the Bible.

Trust must be earned, and standards must be set higher when it comes to Our Pure-hearted Christian Brothers than for other pagan (but far more honest and trustworthy) people, like Mormons or Shintoists.

On Fake Enemies… and Real Ones

From Bojidar Marinov

My thesis in this article is simple: When it comes to analyzing Ted Cruz’s proposal for Federal policies that would supposedly “eliminate the discrimination against homeschoolers,” HSLDA is the most unreliable authority to speak on the issue, and therefore the worst place to turn to for a professional, unbiased opinion.

I agree with Joel McDurmon that Cruz’s legislation proposal is dangerous, and given the history of Federal policies so far, deliberately harmful to homeschooling. But that’s not my point here; for the sake of the argument, I can give Ted Cruz the benefit of the doubt, that may be he hasn’t thought through his proposal to its logical end.

But what is clear to me, logically, is that no matter where one turns to for getting an opinion on this issue, it shouldn’t be HSLDA.

Why?

Because HSLDA has a money motive in such legislation, and stands to eventually profit from it.

[…]

HSLDA has carved a niche on the market for itself: legal representation of homeschooling on federal level. The emphasis here is on federal, that is, centralized. Local representation—and local solutions—have not been to the liking of HSLDA’s lawyers. (See, for example, the multiple cases where Michael Farris actively opposed local and state solutions by local organizations, here.) Michael Farris’s strange love for the Fourteenth Amendment over the original Bill of Rights and the Tenth Amendment also speaks of his preferred mode of centralized legislative and legal action rather than local and state action, as is the traditional American spirit. Lobbyist circles within the Washington DC Beltway is where HSLDA operates at ease; those same circles where problems are resolved by knowing the right person, or pushing the right relational buttons within groups of political king-makers.

Therefore, if we follow the money, HSLDA can only exist and prosper if there is a constant source of trouble for homeschoolers at federal level…

[…]

A bit too far-fetched?

Not at all. This has been the staple tactics of Republican politics for the last 40 years: Always leave major problems unresolved in order to keep them as talking points for the next election cycle. Think about it: for the last 40 years, we have had 20 years of Republican Presidents and 24 years of Republican majorities in Congress and the Senate. And how many of the major legislative issues in the Republican platform have been resolved? What Republican Congress has used its authority to reverse Roe v. Wade? To shut down the Department of Education? To shut down the IRS? To audit the Federal Reserve? To stop government spending? To limit federal debt? To curb welfare? To protect and enforce the Second Amendment?

OK, let’s read that again:

“Think about it: for the last 40 years, we have had 20 years of Republican Presidents and 24 years of Republican majorities in Congress and the Senate. To protect and enforce the Second Amendment?”

This would be a great time for American Christians to finally wake up, don’t you think?

While the socialist side of the legislative spectrum continues scoring point after point—whether it is Obamacare, or EPA regulations, or the shameless appropriation of resources by the criminal syndicate BLM for the profit of politically protected companies, or the unlimited growth of government debt, or federal regulations and restrictions on gun ownership—the supposedly “conservative” majorities in Congress and the Senate are only reacting verbally to it but they never do anything about it. Why? Well, obviously, if those problems are solved quickly—as they can and should—what would a Republican politician use for his next election campaign as a manipulative slogan?

And HSLDA has been endorsing one such Republican politician after another, even when experience tells us that they won’t do anything to solve those problems. And Michael Farris spoke against the only Republican politician who has a proven history of actually doing something to solve these problems: Ron Paul.

It’s nice to get some serious Christian political analysis, that isn’t just more cheerleading for the latest Republican Saviour of the Republic.

Lesson learned: national politics is bone-deep corrupt, especially on the Republican side of the aisle. Things aren’t looking too good on the State side of the table, either.

All actual gains for Christians must be extracted on the local, country, and city level.

The Decline of the Violent Vision

When I am weaker than you, I ask you for freedom because that is according to your principles; when I am stronger than you, I take away your freedom because that is according to my principles.

― Frank Herbert, Children of Dune

Pseudo Christs

I was reading Supergirl and Waging the War Against Cynicism With Idealized Superheroes, where we see a woman’s take on superheroes – “fewer anti-heroes, and more about actual heroes”, as defined by the culture – when I wandered over to a link to How Man Of Steel traumatised me so much I created Huck by Mark Millar.

Another article leaning against violence, true, but the details are interesting:

When I got my hands on Superman in Red Son I reimagined him as a communist dictator, forcing the ideals of Marx and Engels on a global electorate who could do nothing to stop him. Given the chance to create a fun superhero for one of my children, I came up with Hit-Girl, a ten-year-old girl who looked like Polly Pocket, but had the arsenal of John Rambo and the social conscience of Ann Coulter. In short, I have blood on my hands as much as anyone, but that’s where this gets interesting.

You see, I love cartoonish ultra-violence as much as the next Glaswegian (see this year’s Kingsman: the Secret Service where Colin Firth takes down 100 fundamentalists in a Southern Baptist church), but at the same time I also feel we need a little balance. In amongst all these very dark, angst-ridden and sometimes very serious superhero movies that have made Hollywood a lot of money over the last fifteen years I’m sensing a need for a little hope too, a little LESS super-cool bad-assery.

Of course, socialism is reliant on violence: but then again, Ann Coulter’s neocon policies are rather violent as well (and just about as successful as the socialists). The Kingsman: the Secret Service is the usual government-authorized killer, more interested in killing culturally deviant Christians than merely protecting his own person and property, which is pretty much all he could do under Biblical Law.

(I wonder if The Kingsman would ever act against on the silver screen against various Saudi-founded mosques. Impossible, of course: the Establishment has only ever had one enemy, and it was never “Islam” or “religion” or “bigotry”.

Fundamentalist Christians would be well advised to take their Second Amendment rights seriously, before the next set of violence-driven cultural imperialists show up.)

I don’t expect this decline of the liberal violent vision to last long: sensible materialists have a deep faith in the power of killing and theft, Mighty Leaders and Political Power, and are utterly uninterested in fighting the evil within their own hearts (if only because such evil will, always and forever, be redefined as good in their eyes.)

Growing a Spine

It would be nice if actual Christians would at least attempt to keep up, and at least teach their own children about the profound injustice. I have serious doubt about this, though: they can’t even hit the fat and easy targets, like the link between Eugenics, Racism, and the Progressive-backed Ku Klux Klan. If Christians can’t be bother to even try to fight back, to make even a minimum effort to respond to their enemies, then all their wailing and whining and bleating about persecution will be laughingly dismissed.

As it should be, frankly. After all, if they were serious, they would go underground, or leave the country, or be in jail, or get fired, or get executed. They would make a noise, be silenced and beaten and mocked and despised, and keep on fighting and pressing, no matter what Our Loving Masters say. They would actually be willing to pay a price for their faith, day after day, year after year.

(And let it not be forgotten, European Christians eagerly threw away their authority, in the name of some socialist promises of living off the stolen goods of the rich, and nationalist promises of racial glory and imperial might. As of 2016, there still is no interest in getting back their freedom… and I suspect there won’t be any, even after the death of both the welfare state and the technologically-driven gutting of the power of the nation-state.)

Actual Christians follow the example of Christ, pay the price – in blood, in cash, in time, in pain – and so gain the victory. For Christ did not suffer in vain, but to please His Father, and so lawfully gain authority and honour and power on this earth, as it is in heaven.

Instead – in the West at least, and most noticeably in Western Europe – we get these governments – conservative and liberal, Christian and secular alike – who joyfully press the boots on Christian throats… and continue to receive Christian votes, so long as they Look Tough, Uphold State power, and coo the right words about Our Heritage.

What a bunch of power-worshippers!

Fat and comfortable Western European Christians are far more likely to fight for their share of the welfare state’s stolen goods, than to fight for the supremacy and the commandments of King Jesus over all His (deeply pathetic) competition. They shall receive the wages they have earned.

American Christians, take note, and be sure to despise the example set by those failures in Europe.

Matthew 5 (the bold is mine)

1And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:

And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

One day, Christians will actually believe what they read in the Bible, and act on it.

When that day comes, the ruling powers of the world – whether they adore money or power, atheistic and Islamic alike – will tremble, and flee in fear.

I am a postmillenialist. I believe that Christ demands victory, and what God wants, God gets.

I believe that the good guys will win, and the bad guys will lose.
(And God – not some self-serving Elite, be it political or economic or academic or media or legal or religious – gets to define ‘the good guys’ and ‘the bad guys’)

I plan to act on this belief.

I plan on paying the needed sacrifice, in order to win.

I pray that you will, too.
