Christian Economics, Christian Life

Gary North has come up with a great outline, to conclude his work on Christian Economics:

I read Chapter 1 of Inherit the Earth. I skimmed others. I was not satisfied. I was not sure why not. After about 30 minutes, it came to me: the outline for my summation books on Christian economics. I had waited 56 years for this. It is crucial for finishing my other lifetime project.

It seemed obvious as soon as I thought of it. It took about an hour to fill it in.

Creation

Ownership
Delegation
Boundaries
Imputation
Inheritance

Fall

Autonomy
Accumulation
Theft
Cursed scarcity
Disinheritance

Redemption

Confession
Stewardship
Property rights
Entrepreneurship
Capitalization

I did not suffer even one hour of mental groping. But it took 56 years to get to that crucial 30 minutes.

Note: it took 56 years of labour to get that critical 30 minutes.

Just how many Christians are willing to put in 56 years of a disciplined life for that one golden moment of victory?

That number of believers, those who commit their life to the expansion of the Kingdom of Christ in this world — As Christ Commanded — are the number who will get the greatest reward from the hand of God.

We all have different fields, are given different talents, can excel in different ways. What we are commanded to do is EXCEL FOR CHRIST.

Let’s look at that Covenantal schematic again:

Creation

Ownership
Delegation
Boundaries
Imputation
Inheritance

Fall

Autonomy
Accumulation
Theft
Cursed scarcity
Disinheritance

Redemption

Confession
Stewardship
Property rights
Entrepreneurship
Capitalization

The story of Man is here, from the First to the Second Adam, who opened the door for our Redemption…. and so, the story of the Redeemed Man is here too.

Including, I trust, many of my readers… as well as myself.

The vast majority of humanity is still stuck at the Fall stage: claiming to be free of God’s rule, we steal what is His, and then are justly and rightfully cursed and disinherited from life.

We need to expand the Kingdom, to get more and more — and then the majority, and even, God willing, the vast majority — into the Redeemed stage: confessing that Jesus is Lord and God, we act as stewards of the property God has entrusted to us (this requires property rights).

We become entrepreneurs in various fields (often, but not always, business/economic) to expand the wealth God has entrusted to us, which leads to capitalization, which expands our wealth and our comforts… and also, our authority and our responsibility before God Most High.
