God & Sanctions

From Gary North’s Chapter 42: Education, in his online Christian Economics: Teacher’s Edition text.

Sovereignty. Who is sovereign over education? This is the issue of final sovereignty. Is it the God of the Bible or some other god? Who establishes the covenantal structure of society? The biblical covenantal structure is this: God, man, law, sanctions, and the future. Which God is God? This is the central question of existence. The Chaldeans had their gods. Daniel and the three young men had theirs. Which were sovereign? Answer: the one who brought sanctions.

Who is God?

The One who brings sanctions.

That’s the point for today: the Darwinists who rule us, laugh at us, and grind us under their heel are confident that there are no sanctions. As per Isaiah 56:12,

Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant.
This is not true, even from Darwin’s perspective: the white race has been much diminished in honour and power, religious aliens are moving into Europe and (to a lesser extent) the US, and distrust of the State is far more widespread than before.
So, the concept of “abundance” has been downgraded: instead of honour, power, and success, it now just means easy sex, easy abortion, easy perversity, easy pleasure. Instead of wealth, it means easy-to-bear debt loads. Instead of powerful armies expanding the Empire, it means powerful welfare states coupled with free entertainment.
Instead of an ever more intelligent elite and a hardworking, low-crime lower-class population, it means an elite that, protected from reality, never hears a contrary word to the delusions of the day while the disintegrating lower class, tied to the welfare state, makes no political challenges to their masters… but offers no respect or honour, either.
Instead of expanding families, sterile pleasure-seeking. Instead of wealth generation, wealth consumption. This is “abundance” so far as our masters are concerned.
Divine sanctions are here, and ongoing: they merely come in an aborted future in the hospital’s medical waste bin, instead of fire from the sky.

This battle is judicial and economic. The judicial battle is over the primary authority over education: state vs. family. The economic battle is over the primary source of the funding: state vs. family.

The Bible is clear. This injunction is given to families: “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). This advice was given by Solomon to his son. It was not a command given to his son to set up a system of public education for the nation.

Paul said this: “But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are” (I Corinthians 1:27–28). Christians should recognize that the state, which is intensely anti-Christian, will not allow foolishness to be taught in its schools. It makes war on this foolishness.

R. J. Rushdoony once said that Christians who oppose higher taxes but allow their children to be educated in state schools have their priorities wrong. “They tithe their children to the state, but then criticize taxes.”

Most Christians don’t care: the convenience and comfort of dumping their children somewhere is far more important than defeating committed enemies, wealthy and powerful fools that hate them almost as much as the elites hate God.

God brings sanctions on His disobedient and contemptuous people too, just as surely as He crushes His openly hostile enemies.

If you want a picture of a wealthy but laughably powerless interest group, numbering in the millions, look at the Western Christian Church.

Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. — Matthew 5:13

OK, back to North:

Their justification of compulsion in education is this: without compulsion, some parents would not educate their children. In the name of the good of all children, Darwininsts support compulsory state education. The anti-Christian content of state education is justified in the name of religious neutrality. Nevertheless, the vast majority of Christians support state education and its justification: neutral education. Yet Jesus said this: “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters” (Matthew 12:30). The foundation of public education is a myth. There is no such thing as neutral education. It is an impossibility. It is the camel’s nose into the tent. Once inside the tent, it reveals its intense hostility to Christianity. But still the vast majority of Christians send their children into state-run schools. In most nations, it is illegal not to send them into state-run schools. These schools are the primary agencies of propaganda in the world. The propaganda is pro-Darwin and pro-state. The schools are run by the state for the benefit of the state.

“[T]he vast majority of Christians support state education and its justification: neutral education” There comes a time when wilful blindness means wilful rebellion: and, looking at God’s judgement on Western societies, we crossed that boundary long, long ago.

The primary function of tax-funded, state-run education is to indoctrinate children in the Darwinian worldview of the educators. Another goal is to create a population that is subservient to the state. Parents who allow their children to be educated by bureaucrats who cannot be fired after a few years, and who will not allow any interference with their programs by parents or politicians are compliant people. They will do what they are told. Public education is the most important single tool in the state’s control over the public. The teachers are not public servants. The voters are public servants. The teachers kidnap the children of the voters and train them in subservience.

Christians are not weary of this. I suggest that they will never be weary of this until they have been exterminated (softly, harshly, or softly-then-harshly), or until all Christian leadership is hard-core leadership… and that day is coming.

God has blighted the mainstream churches, those echo chambers of Establishment thinking, so their future is over.

Just like the future of their Darwinian elitists, the lord and master that they truly love and obey.

But the business isn’t done until the welfare-state goes down… public education is broadly destroyed by algorithms, … and there is a sustained revival.

The last is easily the most difficult of the three. The first two are ‘baked in the cake’ as it were, but nobody can force the Holy Spirit to go where He doesn’t want to go,or do what He doesn’t want to do.

It depends on repentance, obedience, prayer, deep Bible study, holy action, and the Hand of God: especially the last.
