The Lord’s Delight

In Deuteronomy 28, there are 14 verses that cover the great rewards of obedience, and 54 verses that cover the punishments for disobedience.

Among them include the following, Deuteronomy 28:63 (ESV)

And as the Lord took delight in doing you good and multiplying you, so the Lord will take delight in bringing ruin upon you and destroying you. And you shall be plucked off the land that you are entering to take possession of it.

The Lord is going to delight over all people and all spirits, everywhere.

It’s important for Christians to insure that God delights in us for our obedience to His Law-word, for our reverence for His Holiness, for consistently thinking and acting in a righteous manner, in our love for Him as shown by our action, our deed and our thought.

And not earn for ourselves the other, less pleasant reasons for His delighting over us.
